To the person reading this,
I don't know your name, nor your story. You might or might not have had your fair share of heartbreaks, and each of them, might have hurt equally, if not more. This poem is not about me or you. It's about every person out there, who went through the process of getting their heart broken, moving on and Then finding love in someone else again.
I present to you,
A LOVE LOST, A LOVE FOUND
I stared at my reflection
Taking in all that had changed,
Noticing how my smile refused to reach my eyes,
And how my soul had deranged.
I touched that scar on my heart,
Feeling the dull ache again,
Thinking about a way to heal it,
And to relieve myself from the pain.
I rested my head on that tear stained pillow,
Surviving through the fading memories,
Remembering how we used to laugh along,
On the maniacal satires and parodies.
But as more days passed and time flew,
My chained feet started to move,
Tried to cut loose the past ties,
And the sickening memories started to improve.
I finally came out of the break-up shell,
The haunting past turned to ash,
I started living in those fantasies again,
Those broken moments, did no more in my eyes flash.
I paced along the streets,
Happy with my single self,
Got frightened seeing another obstacle,
But got saved, by a caring elf.
My stomach paved way for those butterflies,
In my eyes shone a new ray of light,
But I was scared of my daunting past,
The hint of a better future, was still in sight.
That soul ignited a fire inside me
Attracting me with every breath,
Holding my hands firmly throughout,
Making me beseech for life, and forget about death.
I felt the soft touches of love amidst the cacophony of life,
And thought of giving myself, a second chance
My felicity's aura of innocence drove me in,
And my rusted feet began to dance.
I felt complacent yet again,
The stars started to shine inside my soul,
Willing to fall for every wish we had,
My world once again became whole.
